Regrets:
Employees are reminded to speak to their Supervisor first about a health and
safety concern. If corrective action is not taken, then the employee is to
report the matter to their health and safety representative.
1. ADOPTION OF
PREVIOUS MINUTES
The minutes from the Health & Safety Meeting of August 16th were
approved as printed/circulated with the exception noted, that the Supervisor
of Training is responsible for coordinating the 2 day First Aid/CPR course
not the Manager of Service Delivery.

RECOMMENDATIONS
No recommendations submitted at previous meeting.
3.
WHMIS UPDATE
Ten new employees will receive WHMIS training next week.
4.
TRAINING
Presently
ten new operators are going throw the training program. The management
co-chair is to arrange with the Supervisor of Training a two day First Aid &
CPR course for committee members requiring recertification.
5. MSDS REVIEW
No items or products were brought forward. It was noted that it is the
responsibility of the Stockroom to provide MSDS sheets when products come
in. The Quality Process Officer will be writing a SPI regarding this.

(Workplace Safety Insurance Board) SUMMARY
Four
WSIB reports
were filed in August for Malton Satellite which resulted in no lost time
claim.

INFORMATION REPORTS
No written
reports received in August.
12. NEW
BUSINESS
Storage Area
–
Worker rep stated that the build up of engine oil in the bus bay storage
area needs to be addressed as it has become a safety hazard. Management
co-chair to contact Building Mtnce Coordinator as the pavement surface in
Malton is asphalt rather than cement which cannot be scraped as done in the
Central garage.
