NEW BUSINESS
a) Wash Bay - Sundays
Waste
bins in the washbay are overflowing on Sundays and is a safety hazard with
fuel in the area. The GSP Supervisor will be contacted to ensure bins will
be replaced and not get to the point of overflowing. Building and Route
will ensure that the bins are changed on Thursdays.
b)
Canopy Parking in Winter
Canopy
parking in the winter is a problem when there is snow on the ground. In the
winter the buses are parked 3 deep, the snow gets packed down and becomes
ice. When a bus is moved it starts to slide, and the possibility of hitting
other buses or building is a concern. With more buses being purchased this
problem will increase.
c) Hoist – Bays 5, 6 & 7
Hoists
are being retrofitted and to eliminate the problem of the posts moving.
Under the hoist the plate is flat and if the bus should shift there is
nothing to stop the bus from sliding. The Health & Safety Specialist stated
Corporate Health and Safety were aware of this issue and addressing it. The
Health & Safety Committee will be following up with Corporate Health &
Safety on this issue.
d)
Combination Transmission Jack/Differential Jack
When the
two jacks are used together, they are secured in a homemade designed strap,
they slide making it difficult and dangerous to do the job. When used
individually the jacks are okay. A proper piece of equipment should be
purchased in order to do the job and do it safely. The Management Co-chair
will take this issue to TMT.
